EHH Terms and Conditions of Membership

Members take part in club sessions entirely at their own risk. Egdon Heath Harriers shall not be liable for any accidents, injury, loss or damage sustained as a consequence of participation in any running or fitness session.

Egdon Heath Harriers accepts no responsibility for races or events that are organised by other organisations. Competitors should check all race details and courses with the organisers prior to participation.

Any member, who has any doubts or concerns about their fitness or ability to take part in any session or race, should consult their G.P. or a suitably qualified health professional before considering participation.

To the best of the knowledge of Egdon Heath Harriers, the information presented on our website is believed to be correct. The club does not accept responsibility for any actions taken on the basis of this information neither does it accept any liability for omissions or errors of fact contained herein.

Egdon Heath Harriers accepts no responsibility for content that may appear on third party websites that are linked from our website. Any inappropriate language, images or other content on these sites that causes offence is entirely beyond our control and links to these sites will be removed as soon as notification is received and processed.

Members will dress appropriately to ensure their safety during sessions making sure they can be seen at all times by members of the public and other members. When running during the hours of dusk/darkness all members must wear reflective clothing.

Members must wear appropriate footwear.

Members must not wear headphones or listen to personal players during training sessions with Egdon Heath Harriers.

Young people under the age of 18 wishing to join Egdon Heath Harriers must obtain parental consent to become a member and tick the box provided on the application form to indicate that they have consent.

Young people under the age of 16 wishing to join Egdon Heath Harriers must obtain parental consent to become a member and tick the box provided on the application form which indicates that they have consent. In addition they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the full duration of every run.

Members agree to follow the EA terms for races (link), which including wearing club top for league/championship races.

Members will be block registered with annually England Athletics (EA) and will be notified directly of their EA membership number.

Limited personal details will be stored on a computer in order to maintain membership records. Access to this information is limited to members of the committee.

Email addresses will be used to send session reminders (and other club social events). If you prefer not to receive such emails you may opt out.

A subscription shall be payable by members on joining the Club and subsequently on the 1 of January of each year. Points will only be award to members for ECC qualifying events if their membership is valid at the time of the event. Back-date events will not count.

The Committee shall have the power to expel any member at their discretion, for reasons such as bringing the club into disrepute or a subscription being six months in arrears. Notice of expulsion must be sent in writing to such a member, addressed to their last known address.

No Member whose subscription is in arrears is eligible to take part in any competition promoted by the Club.

Virgin London Marathon (VLM) Ballot entry
Individuals must have been a member of the club for a minimum of 12 months prior to applying for a place in the club ballot.

Members have assisted in some capacity with at least one EHH organised club race (not provided a family member in their place) which means they were unable to compete (ie. time must be dedicated during the event).

Members must not have been drawn and accepted a place in the ballot for the previous 3 years.

Members must provide evidence of their refusal for entry in the VLM public ballot (rejection slip)

Forums
No abusive public or private messages will be tolerated on our forums. Any member found sending such posts will have their account terminated.

Any offensive posts will be edited (or removed) as soon as the webteam are made aware.
